Slaughterhouse in Thisted Saves Gas

Thisted slaughterhouse tican is helping the municipality to achieve its ambitious plans for CO2-reduction.

A new taller chimney will save a lot of energy for the slaughterhouse in Thisted when it replaces the old 32 meter chimney which stood before. The new chimney, which is 52 meters tall, will contain a heat exchanger which will use the 450 degrees hot smoke for heating 250.000 liters of water stored in an accumulation tank. This water is the exact amount which is needed for the daily cleaning of the slaughterhouses facilities.

Up till now this water heating has been achieved through the usage of natural gas

The chimney is erected Tuesday the 20th of January.
